Please note that I prefer a two-week minimum stay, though I will make exceptions - Call me at 408-892-4754.

I was very impressed with Ned's attention to detail and his understanding my expectations. I returned home to find everything in perfect condition, plants watered and a very content cat.

For two weeks this Christmas, we trusted Ned to take care of our (4) animals, and he did so very well. He also gave our family a ride both to and from the San Jose airport. Now that’s real service!

Our deaf poodle, Buster, escaped our car the first day of our trip. He was found 2 days later and Ned graciously agreed to bring him home and look after him until we returned. Thanks, Ned, for taking care of Buster and giving us a happy homecoming.

If any questions or additional needs came up during our absence, such as when craftsmen needed to install a skylight, Ned took care of them and kept everything coordinated via email and telephone.
Ned made it possible to enjoy our summer and we were delighted to return home and find everything just as we had left it and spotlessly cleaned!

Thanks for taking care of Rocky and Max. We went on our cruise knowing we didn't have to worry about a thing back home.

Ned was a wonderful house sitter. He made quick friends with our two neurotic dogs who became his constant buddies.

Thanks for house-sitting our home while we were away. The plants you were watering look better even than we left them! Thanks also, for mowing the lawn when we were gone longer than expected.

My rates vary from five dollars a day to over $35/day, depending on how many duties I have (pets to feed and care for, indoor/outdoor plants to water, garden tending, general caretaking, etc.)
These are much lower rates than many professional house sitters charge. (see How Much to Pay a House Sitter on eHow.com where $50 a day is the going rate for a live-in house-sitter.)
When there are many clients competing for a particular time period, rates are higher.
If there is a gap in my schedule that I need filled, I'm happy to do the house sitting for a very low nominal rate.
Occasionally, I will even (gasp) do house sitting for FREE. That happens when the duties are low (no or minimal pet care), the location is desirable to me (near clients, etc.) and the house sitting duration is a month or longer.
But, in house sitting, as in life, everything is negotiable, so give me a call, let's discuss. There have been two times in the last two years that I've lowered my fees to ZERO for the just the right place at just the right time.
I can afford to be a house sitter at such low rates because I do my business (web design) from your home as well as simply reside there. This puts no more wear and tear on your home than you would, sitting at your computer for hours each day.
With a high speed internet connection, my laptop(s), a printer/scanner, some extra hard drives and some reference books, I'm in business. Plus I don't have to pay for gas/parking to commute to some distant office each day. (And all my calls go through my cell phone, so I don't even touch your home phone.)
So not only do I get a residence, I get an office as well. This allows me to provide you with house sitting services at a nominally low cost. It's what they call a win-win situation.
