For two weeks this Christmas, we trusted Ned to take care of our (4) animals, and he did so very well. He also gave our family a ride both to and from the San Jose airport. Now that’s real service!

Our deaf poodle, Buster, escaped our car the first day of our trip. He was found 2 days later and Ned graciously agreed to bring him home and look after him until we returned. Thanks, Ned, for taking care of Buster and giving us a happy homecoming.

If any questions or additional needs came up during our absence, such as when craftsmen needed to install a skylight, Ned took care of them and kept everything coordinated via email and telephone.
Ned made it possible to enjoy our summer and we were delighted to return home and find everything just as we had left it and spotlessly cleaned!
- Tim & Patty B., Menlo Park

Ned was a wonderful house sitter. He made quick friends with our two neurotic dogs who became his constant buddies.

Thanks for house-sitting our home while we were away. The plants you were watering look better even than we left them! Thanks also, for mowing the lawn when we were gone longer than expected.

If you are going to trust your home to someone's care, it's understandable that you would want to know something about their background.
I was born and raised in Oakland, CA, and have lived my whole life in the Bay Area. (First 30 years in the East Bay, 2nd 30 years in the South Bay, and now I'm working on my 3rd 30 years.)
I received an engineering degree from UC Berkeley (please don't hold that against me if you are a Stanford Professor seeking a house-sitter during your sabbatical) and had a good career as a software engineer. I worked at about a half dozen Silicon Valley high-tech companies, most of them sadly now defunct, except for Apple Computer, where I worked for about 8 years.
Over the years I have been a renter, a homeowner and even a landlord, owning a small multi-unit property in Santa Clara. However, one or two "reversals of fortune" in the last few years have necessitated that I become extremely conservative with my expenses. Housing is a major expense, so I thought to turn that minus into a plus by putting my belongings in storage and becoming a full time house sitter, looking after other people's investments (i.e. homes).
I work as a web designer so anywhere I can take my laptops and have a high speed internet connection can be a place of business for me. I bring with me my laptop, printer & hard drives, a few boxes of books and office supplies, a small dresser for my clothes, maybe my exercise bike, some sundries and that's about it. I'm pretty portable.
I am not and have never been a smoker, so there needn't be a concern about smoking in your home. During the times in my life when I've lived alone, visitors have always remarked on how clean and neat I kept my home or apartments. I will be just as respectful of your home.
